Spanish for "opposite coast," Contra Costa is one of the nine counties that make up the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Area. Centrally located northeast of San Francisco and south of the Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley wine country, Contra Costa County is an idyllic setting for any family to make its home.

In addition to providing easy freeway access to points throughout Northern California, Contra Costa County is served by the Bay Area Rapid Transit System (BART), and convenient ferry service out of Point Richmond. The County is home to the towering Mount Diablo and Mt.
